HARRISONBURG, Va. Tuesday is National Pancake Day, a day some pancake lovers have been waiting for all year long.
IHOP is inviting customers to enjoy a free stack of pancakes. Waiters are encouraging the customers to donate to the local Children's Miracle Network Hospital.
Managers the IHOP in Harrisonburg said the line of customers is typically out the door before the event even begins.
This is an event IHOP has celebrated for more than nine years. Since the beginning, they have raised more than 13 million dollars to support Children's Miracle Network Hospitals around the nation. This year, they hope to raise another three million nationwide.
Patrick Mortiere, a customer who has visited IHOP several times this week, and plans to come again on Tuesday.
He said it's important for him to support a cause close to his heart.
"Both my parents are in medicine, my sister is also teaching and works with children. For me, I think coming in and being able to donate to a charity to help children in need of medical care, is beneficial to both parties," said Mortiere.
The event starts Tuesday at 7 a.m. and ends at 10 p.m.
