Harrisonburg, Va. (WHSV) Businesses in our area benefited from the parade on Friday night.

It drew in many people to downtown Harrisonburg who stopped in stores along the strip.

Jeremiah Young, the owner of Court Square Coffee, said this year's parade turnout does not compare to last year's because of the rain. He said this year was still good for business.

He had nearly 50 customers all at once shortly before the start of the parade. He even extended hours so parade goers could stop in.

"We'll have hot chocolate ready to go. Of course I do all my normal drinks, mochas and lattes," said Young describing items on the menu in his store.

The business has been in Downtown Harrisonburg for nearly two years. His most popular item during the parade is usually hot chocolate.
