Parents of of James Madison University students are in Harrisonburg for the weekend.

They are learning about their kids college experience during parents weekend.

Mary Schnepp is visiting her son for the first time since he moved.

She said they had the chance to go to a game and grab a bite out to eat for dinner.

Schnepp said it's comforting knowing where her son lives and the security of Harrisonburg.

She said she doesn't make it here often.

"That's why parents weekend is so nice because it gave us a chance to come down and visit and see the campus, see where he lives and actually bring some of my friends and some of his relatives to actually see the campus," she said.

She also said she likes having the chance to explore Harrisonburg.
