HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- If you need to see a doctor and it's not an emergency, you may be waiting a few weeks if not more.

The average wait time for a new patient is about 18 days and some doctors worry that with increased access to health care this could become an even bigger problem.

"My expectation is that we will see more wait times. We'll have to see if it's manageable and how that will affect us. It wouldn't take a very large increase in use of either primary care or specialty care, to really impact that and make it more challenging, and certainly more frustrating for all involved," said Dr. R Steven Pence with Allergy & Asthma Associates.
