People Pack Roads, Restaurants for Graduation Weekend

HARRISONBURG (WHSV) -- Driving along Port Republic Road, University Boulevard, and Reservoir Street, you can expect to see officers out patrolling intersections.

They're expecting traffic to be heavy on these roads again Saturday with additional ceremonies taking place as part of JMU's graduation.

It's a weekend that has roads and restaurants alike packed with people.

"We knew coming into this,” shared Casey Ruth, who is returning to town for her sister's graduation. “We actually came last night (Friday), and we avoided any and all traffic. We'll probably be using all the shuttle services and stuff like that...because it's going to be packed," she continued.

If you're planning on heading out to eat like many of these folks, you may want to call ahead. Wait times are going to be up this weekend with everyone out and about.
