Pile contractors based out of Washington State has no job openings.
But a classified ad running in our area, listed an assistant position in Harrisonburg.
Once you send in your resume, someone responds saying the job is yours.
However, they write on the email they can't be reached by phone, only by text messaging.
After, they write you will be responsible for opening the new office so they need to send you a Cashier's check.
The person will ask for your information to send that check.
Pile contractors president Philip Bononcini said this has never happened before in their company.
"They're preying on their, preying on their need for work and giving them hope and it's just horrible for this people," Bononcini said.
The company's president said they have gotten almost 50 calls asking about the position.
He said he has only heard about this scam going on in our area.
