3 Dead in Shooting at Suburban Baltimore Mall

Police have released the name of the shooter who opened gunfire at the Mall in Columbia on Saturday.

Howard County Police say 19-year-old Darion Marcus Aguilar opened fire in the mall. He was from College Park, Maryland.

They also say he was dropped off at the mall by a cab around 10:15 Saturday morning. Police are unsure of the relationship between the gunman and those shot.

They add that the mall will open no later than Tuesday.

Police have released the names of the victims in Saturday morning's mall shooting.

Howard County Police confirm 21-year-old Brianna Benlolo, of College Park, Maryland and 25-year-old Tyler Johnson of Ellicott City, Maryland were both killed in the shooting. They were both employees of Zumiez in the mall.

COLUMBIA, Md. (AP) -- Police say heavily armed gunman at Maryland mall not identified; victims were store employees.

Police say they are still trying to determine the identity of a gunman who killed two employees of a store at a Maryland shopping mall. The gunman also died.

The attack took place at a skateboard shop called Zumiez on the upper level of the Mall in Columbia, a suburb of both Baltimore and Washington, according to Howard County Police Chief William J. McMahon.

McMahon said authorities ran into difficulty in identifying the gunman because of concerns that he might be carrying explosives.

The two victims were a man and a woman, both in their 20s. They were employees of the shop where the attack occurred. Their names were not released.

Five other people were injured, none seriously.

UPDATE: Police in Maryland say three people are dead in a shooting at a mall in suburban Baltimore.

Police say they believe the shooter is among the dead.

Howard County police said via Twitter that the scene is now "believed to be secure."

The shooting happened at the Mall in Columbia, a suburb between Baltimore and Washington.

Authorities received a call to 911 at around 11:15 a.m. from someone reporting that shots had been fired. Police responded to the scene and found three people dead, including one person who was found near a gun and ammunition.

Police say a shooting has occurred at a mall in Maryland. They did not release information on whether anyone was injured or how many people may be involved.

The Howard County fire and emergency services department sent out a tweet late Saturday morning saying that police and rescuers were responding to the Mall in Columbia, Maryland. Police confirmed that a shooting took place.

The mall is at the center of the town, a suburb of both Baltimore and Washington.
