HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- Some of you may have had trouble finding parking out of the elements Tuesday morning.

The Harrisonburg Police Department parks its vehicles under cover to make sure they can respond to emergencies. City workers said there is enough parking around the city.

"Having them in an open lot that's being plowed or anything like that, there's just no way to get those cars out there in an efficient and timely manner. So having them underneath the parking deck gives us the opportunity to get the vehicle out," said Lt. Kurt Boshart with the Harrisonburg Police Department.

Police said having their cars sheltered helps them respond to minor accidents all day.
