WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) -- Two businesses on West Broad Street were broken into during the overnight hours of Tuesday.
At Ciro's Pizza, the suspect stole the cash register, got away with more than $500 in cash and caused more than $1,000 in damage, according to police.
At The Purple Foot Restaurant, there was about $300 dollars in damage to the front door, but the perpetrators weren't able to get in.
Erwin Bohmfalk, the owner of The Purple Foot Restaurant, said it's disappointing.
'Been here 36 years now so you'd have some I guess, but being on a busy street just seems to lend itself to vandals and it seems to be getting worse all the time. What with the I guess, drugs and the other problems that are taking place," said Bohmfalk.
Waynesboro police said they have no leads right now and ask that if you have any information about the crime, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-322-2017
