Police: Man Arrested After Speeding Away From Officers

STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) -- A Churchville man is in jail after driving away from police for speeding on Saturday.

Police say Eric Robertson, 30, was illegally passing cars on the one-way road inside Gypsy Hill Park. He was pulled over by police, but as officers were getting some info from another driver, he sped away. Police say the park was crowded, which made things very dangerous with him speeding away.

The officers were on bikes at the time, so Robertson got away rather quickly; however, early Sunday morning, officers arrested him at his home in Churchville.

He's now facing multiple charges including proceeding after receiving a signal to stop, driving on a suspended or revoked license, and three counts of reckless driving.

The motorcycle he was on was not properly registered and Robertson was driving it on a suspended license.
