WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) -- Waynesboro police have now arrested four men in connection to a meth distribution case.
What links all of them together is their affiliation to the Sureño 13 gang, according to police.
Gustavo Guilllen Cruz, was arrested Monday night in Waynesboro, marking the fourth arrest in the case.
All four are associated with the Sureño 13 gang and according to Waynesboro police, these are the first arrests they know about with people associated with this gang in the city.
Sgt. Brian Edwards, with the Waynesboro Police Department, said about $3,700 was seized so far in the arrests as all four face drug charges.
Police believe this operation had about eight to 12 people involved, so more people could be out there.
In addition to selling drugs they were trying to get more involvement, according to police.
"They were trying to recruit teenagers, young girls, into the gang to sell drugs. Of course, they have to go through a very disturbing initiation process that does include several sexual acts with several members of the gang," said Edwards.
According to Waynesboro police, two female teenagers were found with one of these four, but according to Edwards had likely not gotten to the point he talked about.
They were taken safely back to their families.
