The Winchester Police Department reports it has arrested the suspect in a stabbing.

Christopher Michael Brill was taken into custody Tuesday.

Police say he was at a location on Euclid Avenue. The SWAT Team was used during the arrest as a precaution.

However, police say Brill was arrested without incident.

The stabbing happened around 2:45 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot by the basketball courts in Jim Barnett Park.

They say 38-year-old Brill, of Capon Bridge, West Virginia, pulled out a knife and stabbed 20-year-old Wayne Stevenson Mitchell several times in the upper body.

Mitchell was treated at Winchester Medical Center and released.

A motive for the assault hasn't been determined.

Brill is facing malicious wounding charges.
