Police Find Meth Lab In Harrisonburg

A methamphetamine lab was discovered on the corner of Myrtle street and Kelly street near downtown Harrisonburg.

The lead investigator told WHSV that on Thursday, police assisted social services to investigate the residence.

They had been informed there could possibly be drug activity going on, and police did find a meth lab inside.

Virginia State Police reports that the lab was inactive at the time, but it had been used to cook meth in the last few days.

One person, who was a fugitive from another jurisdiction, was arrested.

Police are still working on deconstructing the lab, but say this will take time because they are waiting on a chemist to come assist them from Maryland.

At this time, no other drugs have been found but they are still cautiously investigating this scene.
