Harrisonburg Police say a stabbing happened early Friday morning in downtown Harrisonburg.

The stabbing happened in an apartment above Jess' Quick Lunch on South Main Street.

There are two victims. Both are at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, and police say they will recover.

It happened just after 1:00 a.m. Friday.

An employee from Jack Brown's Joint saw a man stumbling on the sidewalk.

The man opened his jacket, and the employee says his shirt was soaked in blood.

Rescue crews arrived, washed the blood trail from the sidewalk and began the investigation.

That's when they were led to the apartment, where they found a woman with injuries to her hand. Police say they are likely from a knife.

Right now, police are looking for a person of interest. They have identified him.

They say once they question the third person, they can determine if this is an aggravated assault case or self-defense.
