Political Documentary '2016' Draws Big Crowds

Updated: Tue 6:48 AM, Aug 28, 2012

Political documentaries usually aren't so popular, but one called '2016' is already bringing in more than 6 million dollars.

It's a conservative film arguing why President Obama should not be re-elected.

The movie attempts to tell the story of Obama's past and what the country would be like if he were President for another term.

Political science professor at Bridgewater College David McQuilkin says the movie should do well in this area because we live in the most conservative part of Virginia.

Plus he says it's coming out at the perfect time to appeal to more voters.

"It's right now at the very point of the Republican Convention and I think the two coming together has probably stirred interest among a large group of people or at least a significant group of people who will be potential voters for the Republican Party," said McQuilkin.

He says the movie shouldn't have much of an affect on the election because most of the people who see it already believe and support the ideas that it conveys.
