NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WHSV) -- A majority of Virginia voters are against Medicaid expansion, according to a new poll from Christopher Newport University.
The poll says 53 percent of Virginians are against expansion, while 41 percent support it.
This new poll shows a reversal from a poll done in February when 56 percent supported expansion and 38 percent opposed.
Republicans and Democrats are still debating the issue in the General Assembly. If they don't come to an agreement before July 1, the state government would shut down.
