Popular Valley Theater Will Soon Close Its Doors

STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV)-- The building will instead by occupied by the Staunton Performing Arts Center. Leaders at the theater say that as hard as the decision was, they look forward to the future of this building.

Many people who live in the area are disappointed about the closure and say this theater was a big part of the downtown scene.

"The location of this theatre, how close it is to everything, and when you walk in you don't feel like you are going into a movie theater, rather an old building of art to see a movie," said Brandan Thomas, who visits the theatre.

As a thank you, the theater is inviting people to a final weekend of summer movies from the past. The event takes place next weekend.
