Crews Investigate Fire Cause

BRIDGEWATER, Va. (WHSV) -- UPDATE: 10:30 p.m. 2/9/2014

Neighbors say they heard an explosion and came outside.

The shed is next to a home on the 200 block of East Riverside Drive in Bridgewater. Flames from this storage shed spread to an adjacent shed.

Fire crews picked up pieces of metal from the storage shed that is a total loss. The assistant fire marshal with Rockingham County says crews are still investigating a cause.

Witness, Jo Halterman, shared, "It was like a big boom almost like a gun type sound if you have to compare it to anything."

The homeowner says he was at the store when the fire happened.

Fire crews from Bridgewater, Weyers Cave, and Rockingham County responded to the fire within minutes of getting the call.

UPDATE: 8:15 p.m. 2/9/2014
The fire is out and crews are investigating what happened in a storage shed where the fire began.

Fire crews are responding to a fire and possible explosion in Bridgewater.

Emergency dispatchers say it's happening near the 200 block of Riverside Drive. That's just off of Main Street.
