STANLEY, Va. (WHSV)-- Christopher Wright, 40, was found dead inside of his home from at least one gunshot wound and there is still no answer as to what exactly happened.
His death is currently being investigated as a homicide by the Page County Sheriff's Office. They are still investigating persons of interest; however, that is all that has been released at this point.
Wright's body was found in his house on Shade Tree Lane in Stanley.
Many neighbors expressed their shock and horror at this tragic event occurring in such a close knit, family oriented community. Until they have more answers, many neighbors remain unsettled.
Stanley residents agree that once the Wright case is resolved, they will have greater peace of mind. Until then, many are taking precautions. Some of those precautions include leaving lights on at night, making sure doors are locked and keeping an eye out on neighboring homes, as well as their own.
"You don't have a lot of this in the bigger cities, it's just a common thing, but in a small community like this, its shocking to a lot of people and knowing that its right next door. It's hitting pretty close home," said Donnie Roudabush, a neighbor who remains 'on high alert'.
The sheriff's office has instructed anyone who has information pertaining to this case to call the Criminal Investigations Division at 540-743-7810.
