President Obama Visits Robben Island

CAPE TOWN The First Family visit the South African prison cell where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years of his 27 years behind bars for his fight against apartheid. The tour of the prison cell comes after President Obama met with Nelson Mandela family. The President did not meet with Mandela who remains in critical but stable condition. Throughout his tour in South Africa, President Obama paid tribute to Mandela. Speaking highly of the former South African leader.

"Mandela's spirit could never be imprisoned, because his legacy is here for all of us to see," said President Obama.
