BRIDGEWATER, Va. (WHSV) -- Public approval of President Barack Obama and Congress continue to plummet.

A new poll from NBC and The Wall Street Journal shows Obama's approval rating is at an all-time low. Meanwhile, the poll shows 63 percent of voters want to replace their own member of Congress, the highest recorded percentage for that question.

"Given that nobody can do what they've promised to do, it's very difficult for our government to do anything. It really is a recipe for American people of all ideological stripes to be disappointed with the inability of their government to govern," said Dr. Jim Josefson, a political science professor at Bridgewater College.

According to the same poll, half of those surveyed think it is likely that there will be another government shutdown.
