City Council to Hold Public Hearing On Million Dollar Loan

WAYNESBORO, Va.-- Waynesboro could save save thousands with some refinancing.
A $2,225,000 loan helped pay for the Waynesboro Towne Center.

The city is looking to refinance that loan with a lower interest rate. This would save the $40,000 for 2015 and $80,000 for the following year.

City leaders say they hope to send more cash towards public safety, however, some people have different ideas.

"They can hold community events or a public forum where people can express their opinion on whether it's taxes, schools, public safety, you know, get people involved, having something fun for them to do to get involved," says Shane Collins, who lives in Waynesboro.

You can chime in on the measure during a public hearing on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at city hall.
