HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- With plans for the new municipal building in Harrisonburg moving ahead, there is a big response from the public.

The Be Heard Harrisonburg site is full of comments from the public.

The plans presented by the Plan Our Park design team suggest a park where the current municipal building and farmers market reside.

The park will include the farmers market and add green space and parking. Plan Our Park is getting a big response on its Facebook page.

"Making sure that we can get as much possible input is really a goal. A park is only as good as the input you get from the community for what it wants, so the more input we can get the better," said Andy Perrine, a council member for Plan Our Park.

The city will be considering the public input and making a recommendation on the plan as early as January.
