FISHERSVILLE, Va. (WHSV) -- Providing comfort through a quilt is the focus of the 2nd Annual Quilts of Comfort auction, benefiting the Hospice of the Shenandoah.

Hands are busy putting the final pieces into place before Saturday's auction. Nearly 100 quilts and other items will be auctioned off as the money goes to the gifted care program, which helps hospice families pay for what their insurance doesn't cover.

Norma Baldwin said she logged 300 hours behind her sewing machine, making seven quilts for the auction.

"It's just pure joy. I love to sew, and I'm so motivated because of what's going to become of these quilts, and how they're going to help the gifted care program for hospice," said Baldwin.

The auction starts Saturday at 10 a.m.at Augusta Expoland. Visit the Quilts of Comfort website for more information.
