LOS ANGELES (AP)— Casey Kasem made "American Top 40" a must listen for more than three decades with his sentimental "long distance dedications" and cheerful, weekly reminders to "keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars."

A feud over Kasem's health care divided his children and his second wife in recent years, in which he struggled with Parkinson's disease and a form of dementia.

His daughter says the family is heartbroken after his death this morning.

Casey Kasem was 82.
