WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) -- Waynesboro police are investigating another break-in at a city business.
During the past eight days, six businesses have been broken into and police saying whoever is responsible for these crimes is still on the loose.
Eight days ago, the concession stand at the War Memorial Pool in Ridgeview Park was broken into.
Two days later, police responded to break-ins at Ciro's Pizza where suspects stole about $600 and The Purple Foot, both businesses on West Broad Street.
On Monday morning, police say a laundromat and Sago Antiques Store were broken into overnight.
The suspect took $20 from the antiques store and this morning, police responded to a reported break-in at Rudy's Dry Cleaners on Lucy Lane.
Police believe all of these break-ins are connected. In all of them, a cash register or cash box was stolen or tampered with. Police have also noticed that none of the businesses targeted own surveillance cameras.
Claudia McNeil, the manager at Rudy's Cleaners each morning, discovered the broken glass door a little after seven this morning. She said crimes like this one leave her feeling unsafe and worried.
"I open the store every morning . and it's always been a thought in the back of my mind because I am the only one here that this would happen. But you never really expect it," said McNeil.
The owner of Rudy's said that whoever stole the register only got away with about $10. He also said that he plans to have the door fixed by the end of the day.
A report from witnesses released by police in regards to the burglaries at laundromat and Sago Antiques shows that witnesses saw a moped and a white Chevy Malibu or Impala in the parking lot at the business during the times.
So far, there have been no descriptions of any suspects.
