Report Claims Employment Increase For March

The warm weather has brought more people out of their homes and out shopping and many businesses must be getting ready for them as a report shows that hiring for march has increased from February.

According to payroll solutions company, ADP, private businesses have increased hiring from 153,000 to 191,000 jobs from February to March.

The report showed construction and trade industries among those that showed the highest growth.

We spoke to the owner of a local business who says her business has been doing well since winter has passed.

"Its been very good, I've been kind of shocked because I thought with it being warm, everybody would be out at the garden places and getting their plants because we usually get hit like that but it really hasn't been that way," said Kathy,, the owner of Kathy's Restaurant in Staunton.

This comes as claims for unemployment benefits rose slightly this week from last week.
