STAUNTON -- The state of Staunton...is strong.
That is according to a new report from the Staunton Department of Economic Development. The report outlines the city's economic achievements and accolades over the past year.
Some highlights from the report:
Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro was ranked the No. 1 micropolitan economy in Virginia, and No. 13 in the United States.
Also, over 180 new jobs were created in Staunton last year.
"Success breeds success," said Amanda Glover, Staunton's assistant director of economic development. "So this is a great message to tell prospective businesses, prospective startups: that Staunton is a great place to do business, and we're ready and willing to come help you make that happen."
Glover said the report points to a community-wide effort that has helped make Staunton what it is today.
