For some, breaking a sweat in the kitchen, doesn't equal a Happy Thanksgiving. Some restaurants are preparing to be your home away from home.
Gail Suffecool works at Cracker Barrel part-time. She and her husband are enjoying a Pre-Thanksgiving meal.
"The atmosphere is friendly and of course you've got the fire place which is wonderful. Just kind of a home atmosphere." said Suffecool.
While Gail has some time off, her co-workers are putting the final touches on a big feast. It's a meal that takes months to prepare.
"We plan on the number of people we anticipate on dining and we plan our needs around that." said Melissa Hizer, General Manager of Cracker Barrel.
According to the National Restaurant Association, 14 million Americans will eat out for a Thanksgiving meal this year. Another 16 million will use restaurant takeout for their meal at home.
Golden Corral is also open on Thanksgiving. The manager tells News 3 his staff plans on serving 2,000 people.
According the National Restaurant Association, 63 percent of consumers say they use restaurant prepared foods for all or part of their Thanksgiving meal to spend more time with family and friends.
