Retired Waynesboro Teacher Celebrates 104th Birthday

WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) -- A retired Waynesboro teacher celebrated her birthday with her family Wednesday at Summit Square Retirement Community.

Anne Gardner Wylie turned 104 Tuesday and said she is just happy that she feels good.

She taught home economics for about 20 years at Waynesboro High School.

Her niece said Wylie is very curious and asks lots of questions.

When asked her secret to living such a long an healthy life, "Nothing, just being around with everybody. I don't have any secrets. Just take the days as they come," responded Wylie,

Wylie's family said one of her favorite things to do is go on rides across town and sit outside and enjoy the sun and the flowers.
