Contradicting Reports on Fair Accident

Fair Association President Deborah Lantz said no rides collapsed at the Pendleton County Fair.

"The roof blew off one of the carnival games. One of the carnival people that was actually working the game tonight was cut with a piece of wood that broke off the roof and hit her on the leg. There was no other damage to the rides. No one else was hurt," said Lantz.

Storms did move through that area that night and the entire county was under a severe thunderstorm warning.

Witnesses of the event told a WHSV reporter on scene described the top of a children's ride blew away and cut a woman's leg.

Carnival workers said a tent blew down.
According to reports from the National Weather Service, which were called in by Pendleton County, one injury resulted from a ride collapse at a Pendleton County fair.

The number of rides collapsed has been raised to two.
A ride at a Pendleton County Fair has collapsed. The number of injuries at this time is unknown. We are sending a reporter there now.
