VDOT's Road Condition Report (11:30 a.m.):
HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- With the afternoon's warmer temperatures, conditions are now better than they were Monday morning.
The roads are mostly clear and while there is still some slush off to the sides of roads, it's nothing too serious.
You also might see some sidewalks that aren't treated, which could be a little bit hazardous.
Driving around Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, the road conditions were all pretty clear.
From Interstate-81 to South Main Street to even some of the more country roads in the county, VDOT reports conditions are improving.
Charlie Joseph, a tow truck driver at K.A.R. Towing in Harrisonburg, said they've been extremely busy with this storm..
"Just too much speed. People shouldn't really be out at all when it's icy like that, no matter whether you have four-wheel drive, it's still hard to control the vehicle," said Joseph, "Just leave plenty of stopping distance, go very slow. Take your time. Watch for people that are going to pull out in front of you, or whatever."
Joseph said the busiest times for the towing company were Sunday between 8 p.m. and Monday at 3 a.m., at the height of the storm.
