Crews were hard at work today getting the Rockingham County Fairgrounds ready to go for tomorrow. That's when this years fair opens for business.

Organizers say they looked at the weather for the next week and it should be smooth sailing for one of the biggest fairs ever.

The fair has grown this year with a larger midway, meaning many more rides and attractions. This year is also the first for entertainment row, that will have constant music acts and shows.

The fair is already expected to have record numbers this year with a Wednesday act that is already sold out.

The Fair's General Manager, Jeff Ishee, says the word for this years fair is carpool.

"It's environmentally friendly, it's conservation. Get to know your neighbors, you know, let's go to the fair together this year. Carpool, double dates is what what we called it when I was growing up. Spend some time with your friends and it will certainly help to ease the traffic."

The Rockingham County Fair opens August 13th and will run through the 18th.
