Rockingham County is looking into the final steps to build a road that will connect Reservoir street and Spotswood trail.

Right now, their only concern is how traffic on Boyers road will be affected by the new road.

The design has the new road intersecting route 33 just east of Boyers road.

The county is looking for public input on what to do with Boyers road.

They have six options.

One of them would leave Boyers road as it is.

The others are different ways to configure the intersection of Boyers road and route 33.

Neighbor Kim Sadum said with the new road, her concern with leaving the interchange as it is is more traffic.

"I hope we don't keep doing that, additional pieces of 33. I hope we'll do sheared driveways, other options that we can have instead of additional curbcuts, lowering the speed limit and putting more traffic lights. That makes getting across town a nightmare," Sadum said.

They will make a decision on the road once they have enough input.

This new road will be completed at the end of 2014.
