Rockingham County Sheriff's Office Works on Saftey Initiative

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WHSV)-- On Thursday, the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office will conduct a safety/awareness initiative.

The Office says the two night student outreach event will happen at Aspen Heights from 6 p.m. till 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

The theme of this initiative is "take Care and Be Aware". The Sheriff's office says in a press release, the purpose of the event is to encourage students to be safe and avoid problems they may have come across int he past.

Deputies and JMU police officers will go door to door at the complex, to speak with students and pass out fliers.
