RICHMOND, Va. (WHSV) -- As a local service project, the Rockingham Zone 3 Ruritans recently provided four flag stands, the American flag, and the Virginia flag for display in the 26th District House of Delegates Richmond office.
In addition to the aforementioned flags provided by the Ruritans, Rockingham County and the City of Harrisonburg provided their respective flags for display in the office as well.
While local Ruritans Jeff Roadcap and Paul Beiler made the presentation to the current representative of the 26th House District, Delegate Tony Wilt (R-Broadway), the flags will remain in perpetuity with the office of the 26th House District, regardless of the representative.
“I greatly appreciate the Ruritans efforts in making this one of their service projects,” said Delegate Wilt. “The flags of our Nation, Commonwealth, and Localities make a great addition for all to see when visiting the Capitol office. It’s certainly fitting that these flags will remain with the office for years to come, regardless of the office holder.”
The Rockingham Zone 3 Ruritans is comprised of several clubs covering northern Rockingham County, including Bergton, Broadway-Timberville, Fulks Run, Linville-Edom, Rockingham Luncheon, Singers Glen and Tenth Legion-Mountain Valley. The 26th House District encompasses the City of Harrisonburg and a large portion of Rockingham County, including a significant portion of the area covered by the Zone 3 clubs.
