HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- Thousands of people in the Shenandoah Valley took advantage of the weather and came to downtown Harrisonburg for the annual Rocktown Beer and Music festival on Saturday.
Volunteers say the tickets sold out on Friday at noon. Three thousand people came to try area breweries and local eats. People from Harrisonburg say the Saturday event is a great way to draw in people who haven't been to Harrisonburg before.
"It brings a lot of tourists into the community who may not have come otherwise. I think it's a great showcase for the community and really promotes local businesses, which for me is really important. It's really great," said Brandon Bowyer, who lives in Harrisonburg.
People had the chance to try some of the 31 breweries, along with local food vendors. In addition to vendors, the event had more than 100 volunteers involved.
