ROCKINGHAM COUNTY-- A 23-year-old Harrisonburg man was taken to Rockingham Memorial Hospital following an overnight crash.

The crash happened just before midnight on the 7900 block of North Valley Pike.

Virginia State Police said the driver, Craig Clem, was traveling north when he drove off the road, hit four mailboxes and then went into an embankment.

Police said Clem's truck flipped over several times and landed on its wheels. According to Police, Clem's injuries are not serious.

Harry Biller lives near the crash scene. He said he didn't see the crash, but he definitely heard it.

"It sounded like a car ran over another car. That's what it sounded like. I mean it was really loud. My wife said 'Did you hear that?' and I said, 'Yeah'. Then I came out to my kitchen window and saw the car come to a stop," Biller recalled.

State Police said Clem is charged with driving under the influence of drugs.

They are waiting for blood work to return before determining what drugs were used and how much of them were in Clem's system.
