HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV)-- Tuesday is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day where people across the country will be walking and lighting candles to remember lost infants.
The Sadie Rose Foundation will host a remembrance event Tuesday evening where community members will light candles and gather around Court Square.
Regina Cyzick Harlow, co-founder of the Sadie Rose Foundation, said she hopes this event will offer an avenue for support and a window for open conversation.
"I keep believing that we can just line the entire square. There will be no walking required it is just this full circle around Court Square with candles. I know it can happen because I know we have such a supportive and caring community," said Harlow.
Harlow said it's great that Breast Cancer Awareness Month is so popular, but wishes National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month received similar attention.
