The Rockingham County Schools Superintendent has finished crunching the numbers and just put out her proposed budget for the next fiscal year. If Dr. Carol Fenn gets her way, school employees would get a raise.

Dr. Fenn is requesting the School Board to approve a budget of $52.5 million dollars. That's a 4.7 percent increase.

Within that budget, Dr. Fenn wants school employees to get an average salary increase of 2 percent.

Dr. Fenn is also asking for $662,000 dollars for textbooks.

You'll have a chance to give your opinion on the budget proposal. There will be a public hearing Monday at 7:00 p.m.. at J. Frank Hillyard Middle School.

The school board makes its decision Wednesday.
