HARRISONBURG,Va. (WHSV)-- The Harrisonburg Salvation Army needs the Valley's help to stock shelves since the food pantry is currently running on empty.
Duane said it's 'crunch time' in the pantry.
The Salvation Army needs donations of things like cash and non-perishable food items before the summer gets fully underway.
He also stresses that the need is even bigger when there's children involved.
"Uh...what's happened now is that a lot of kids that were getting free and reduced lunches are now home they need to be fed. so it's put an increase on the parents and on their families, on their budgets
so we wanna make sure that we continue to serve that community that is in need," said Captain Burleigh.
To make a donation to the Harrisonburg Salvation Army, visit their center at 185 Ashby Avenue or go to their website on the sidebar of this story.
