ROCKINGHAM COUNTY -- Republican Attorney General candidate Mark Obenshain was in the Valley Friday expressing his view point on accepting gifts.
Obenshain says it's old news and wants to move on. He said he has a proposal that bans all gifts for any elected official including their families. He said he is going to live by the proposal even if it fails.
"I think all of us like to think that Virginia is different. That it was not necessary to do it but when something like that ends up on the front page of newspapers for weeks on end it becomes clear that we need to make some changes," said Obenshain.
The proposal will be given to the general assembly.
