Senator Mark Warner will be talking about rail safety on Monday in Richmond. The conversation will center around the train derailment and fire in Lynchburg.

RICHMOND, Va. (WHSV) -- Senator Mark Warner will be talking about rail safety on Monday in Richmond, after the train derailment and fire in Lynchburg.

The derailment dumped tens of thousands of gallons of crude oil into the James River on April 30th.

Senator Warner will be talking about proposed regulations and initiatives aimed at safely transporting crude oil. The event will be at VDOT headquarters in Richmond at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
