Several Water rescues Reported in Fayette

BECKLEY, W.Va. (AP) -- Fayette County officials are reporting several water rescues after a severe thunderstorm in the area.

The Register-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/13V9Ati) that a woman who was stuck in her vehicle contacted the Emergency Operations Center shortly after 9 Friday night to report that her car had been washed off the road in Hico. Water was coming into the car, and she was unable to free herself.

Area firefighters and the Swift Water Rescue Unit were able to rescue the woman, who was unharmed.

Two other water rescues were performed in Victor, but officials did not have details.
