WOODSTOCK, Va. (WHSV) -- Evan L. Vass has been named Shenandoah County’s assistant county administrator.
Vass, who currently serves as the town manager of New Market, was selected from a candidate pool of more than 30 applicants.
His duties will include providing management oversight and assistance to Mary Beth Price, the county administrator.
“I am very excited to have Evan join our administrative team. I have worked with Evan in the past on many occasions. His experience as town manager of New Market and the assistant city manager of the City of Harrisonburg brings a depth of knowledge and experience,” said Price.
Vass will assume his duties with Shenandoah County on Monday, May 12, 2014 and will earn a starting salary of $91,342.
“I feel honored to be given an opportunity to serve in such an important management role with Shenandoah County,” said Vass. “Shenandoah County is home to my young family and a place I desire to remain personally and professionally.”
Vass is a 2003 graduate of James Madison University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration.
