HARRISONBURG - Six people are homeless after their house burned down. Good neighbors are helping them get back on their feet.
The home on Third Street in the Town of Shenandoah was declared a total loss. The fire chief said it started just before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
The family who lived there believes it started in the kitchen. The Red Cross is helping the family with food, clothing and a place to stay through Friday.
Megan Morris, who lived in the house, was thankful for the help they were finding, she said "I just want to thank the red cross and everybody that's come by today and donated clothes, I really appreciate it."
Crews are still investigating the cause of the fire.
