The government shutdown puts national parks on hold. Travelers struggle as Shenandoah National Park is closed, along with Skyline Drive.
The gates at the entrance of Shenandoah National Park keep out many confused and frustrated tourists.
In only a few minutes, drivers from as far as Texas had to find another route to travel through the area.
One group of motorcycle riders, two of them from Illinois, explain how they really feel about the shutdown.
Cyclist Steve Meister said, "We're so proud that nobody wants to work together in the capital, it just makes me a proud citizen of this country. I mean they just, someone needs to get a party together to where they're going to start working together or they all need to go."
Many tourists not expecting the shutdown will be forced to change their travel plans to not include national parks.
