Shooting Suspect Remains in Jail After Bond Hearing

The man who allegedly shot another man Monday night in Rockingham County remains in jail after a bond hearing Wednesday.

Rudolph Dean, Jr. appeared in front of a judge in Rockingham County General District Court.

A $20,000 bond was posted for Dean, but it was later repealed.

He will appeal that decision in another bond hearing Thursday morning.

According to Dean, he and the victim, Robert Crawford got into a fight after a road rage incident on Route 340.

Crawford allegedly pulled out a telescoping baton and Dean grabbed his .44 mm pistol to scare him.

Dean allegedly then shot Crawford in the neck.
