HARRISONBURG,Va. (WHSV)-- Court Square Theater’s new fifteen foot sign on Liberty and Graham Streets recalls the heyday of cinema and the historic Rockingham Motor Company.
In early June, the Arts Council of the Valley and its Court Square Theater, with local fabricators Signs USA, will install this new sign generously funded in part through Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance’s Façade Improvement Grant program.
Designers Lindsay and Don Denny drew inspiration from Harrisonburg’s historic commercial signs to highlight the theater’s increased programming in Harrisonburg’s nationally recognized main street district.
Join in the celebration at 7 p.m. on June 14th as the Arts Council hosts Sign of the Times– Dinner and a Movie featuring gourmet treats and the classic, Casablanca, in support of the theater and arts programming. As the movie concludes, the newly installed sign will be illuminated for the first time.
The Arts Council of the Valley (ACV) champions diverse artistic expression and promotes the arts as fundamental to a vibrant community. ACV provides memorable arts experiences for individuals in the City of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County through our visual, literary, and performing arts programs, education opportunities, and grants.
