It is easy to keep track of your little monsters on Halloween night if you do not accompany them to trick-or-treat. All you need to do is to make sure they carry a cellphone with a tracking app on it.

Both Apple and Android phones have apps available in their stores that let you keep tabs on any cell phone you own. It basically uses the same systems police and rescue squads use to pinpoint missing people.

Apps like Mama Bear and SPG Tracker Pro only cost a few dollars. Some service providers offer similar options that can be included right from the time you activate your phone.

It might cost a little extra on your bill, but that extra cost means you are protecting something priceless.

“They are protecting their children. They're protecting their safety,” said Greg Martin, assistant manager at an AT&T Mobility store. “I mean, they're most definitely priceless. If you ever asked me, if I ever have children, then I would want them to be protected. All these great apps that we have will help you do that.”

Places like AT&T offer their service for $10 a month, but they also have the option to test the feature out for one day for only $2.
